I was a bit dubious early on, as my calves weren't looking the best in September and October, but I carried on with probiotics without high expectations. I used 1T less meal and sent them grazing in the last week of November at 122kg Ave. Usually, I would still have a mob of around 20 at home until mid-December. I love Calf Xtreme! It keeps the calves healthy and growing well. It also fixes issues if they arise. I have no problem with paying more to get a better result. I don’t think saving money should be an objective in growing great animals. I like spending money on something that works, and this does it 100%!

This year, we stopped all vaccines, e.g., Rotovac and Multimin, and only used this probiotic! NOT ONE! No sick calf all season. All calves were also weaned well before Christmas (usually, we have a few stragglers into January).

Hey Di. I’m loving the BioRescue paste you sent up. I used a whole tube on a cow who was down with low phosphorus levels. She was down for five days. The poor girl had a pinched nerve, too. I gave her the paste on day three, and by day four, she was eating. By day six, she was up and getting her phosphorus levels right. I reckon the paste got her eating, which made a massive difference in her recovery. I kept her on once-a-day milking to day 10, and she’s now back in the herd and doing great. I’d thoroughly recommend this product.

Since using Calf Extreme in the last five years, we have had no cases of rotavirus or scouring, and our calves are much healthier. We used to spend big money on vaccines and electrolytes, yet we still had persistent scouring problems. Now, we use no vaccines or electrolytes, just Calf Extreme.

So, BioRescue worked. Thanks so much, I can report that the calves that were on death’s door last night with one pooing straight blood are up and getting themselves to the feeder unaided. One was bouncing around the pen tonight, and you would never know she was so very sick. I’ve never seen calves turn around so quickly. I went from having tears streaming down my face when hubby turned up at the calf shed yesterday to tears of relief and joy tonight. So, thank you. I will be telling my vet what I’ve used, and definitely passing this information on to other calf rearers.

This year, even with the wet weather, very few scours grew faster, and it seemed far more content between feeds and eating meal and grass very quickly once in the paddock, with no running up and down the fence every time a bike went past. Fantastic result this year: the calves are big, and the coats are so shiny.

Rather than weaning earlier, I use calf extreme to feed calves more and grow them bigger. This season's calves would be my best yet. Next season, I am going to fortify the usual 6-7 litres of milk-fed OAD with a full feed of calf whey powder up to day 42, so the calves will get the equivalent of 10-12litres, then wean down off milk over a 3 -4 week period. The aim is to have 100+kg calves transitioned off milk at 9 weeks of age.

I got a bit lazy on my last mob and stopped giving it to them, and they really are taking ages to reach weaning weight! I regret that now, but it was a good way to compare.

In spite of the high milk feeding rate (6litres, once a day) the appetite for meal was higher than I have ever had with calves before. They ate half a kilo of meal within 2 weeks, and by 3-4 weeks, this had gone up to 1 kg, so I cut the milk to 4 litres. I had previously used another couple of brands of probiotics, but nothing compares with calf Xtreme and how it works. I only started on 50 calves, but now I wouldn’t trust not using it.

This product really sells itself. It gave us problem-free calf rearing apart from a small number of sick calves, which I drenched to give them the extra dose rate, and they pulled through. It really stimulated their appetite for meal and hay while in the shed, and now we have to find extra grass to put them on, and they are eating much more grass than usual.

This paste is legit…I had a calf in the middle pen that wouldn’t drink yesterday, and he didn’t look happy. I gave him 5g of the BioRescue paste. He was the only one waiting at the gate for milk this morning and drank like a champ.
